Excellent ap. Clear, simple, comprehensive, attractive. The radar map is awesome - I use it frequently to check on the rain situation.

Worked great until the recent Mac OS upgrade. It now freezes and the only recourse is to restart the computer.

There have been several special weather statements/severe weather alerts in the last few days, and this app provided none of them. This would be unacceptable for a free app that claims to provide weather alerts and is beyond unacceptable for a $10 app. I woudl give negative stars if I could

This is hands-down one of the best weather apps Ive seen. Im having a problem with it randomly eating my CPU in the background though - draining my battery and getting my mac all hot. Im reluctant to leaving it running on my computer anymore :(

This is the best money I have ever spent on an application. Not only do I use it everyday, it’s so nice to be able to glance up and check what temperature it is and whether or not it’s raining… You might just say look out the window, but considering my apartment doesn’t have any, in the morning this app is great! In addition to the beautiful interface and design, the support is fantastic. If you have a question, send them an email and they get back to you in minutes… Best ever! Been here since the start and plan on staying! Thank you for making life a little easier! :)

This is the best weather app in the app store. The menu item is elegant and always available whenever you need it. I am very happy with my purchase.

Forecast Bar provides all, and I do mean all, the weather information you could possibly want. But if you just want the basics, that is there too. Forecast Bar has it all. Frequentely updated too. Haven’t had the opportunity to check out Forecast Bar Support yet but others have told me it is very responsive.

Really nice weather app! Very handy to have the temperature and current conditions a glance away in the menu bar, and the forecast just a click more. Also, I had previously notified the developer that Forecast Bar had a dependency that caused a switch from the battery-friendly Integrated Graphics to the power-sucking Discrete Graphics on the MacBook Pro and it was quickly fixed! I’m happy to report that Forecast Bar no longer switches to the discrete graphics adapter.

Love the new hour by hour display - very nice. This is one of the best apps in the app store. Does exactly what it says it will and i have ben able to customize it to my liking. If you need a a great weather app look no further. I feel comfortable giving this a 5 star rating a letting others know it is worth the money. Also spent a few extra dollars on the in-app upgreade. Again - worth it to me. Bravo to the developers.

It’s taken the developers a while, but they’ve polished this app (and its ios counterpart) enough to make it my go-to weather app. The newest version is particularly nice, since I’m partial to dark modes and I can now set up the menu bar widget to a completely black background with white text. The app gives just enough information without overloading me with data I don’t need. I urge you to try this one, and if you’ve other weather apps in the past, I think you’ll find it a nice balance between simplicity and complexity.

I love having my forecast in my menu bar thanks to this app! One small request, though: There is no padding around the icon in the menu bar so if I put any other icons next to it it looks kind of ugly since the icons are sandwiched together. If you could just add 5-10 pixels of padding to the left/right of the menu bar icon that’d be great! It’s all about the details, right?

I’m honestly thinking of uninstalling this App because the multiple updates a week are getting quite annoying! I am all for having an app that is kept up to date, but weekly or daily is getting to be a bit much!

Update: Love people complaining about too many updates. Keep up the great work devs, 1 click to update is worth it. Most accureate weather app ive found for Mac. I have tried every weather app and was most recently Using Carrot but I much prefer this apps Design and interface. Its simply easy to read customizable and even supports Dark mode. I love that the app is easily accessible from anywhere. Highly recommend to everyone.

UPDATE (07/06/16): While the developers are extremely dedicated to this project, they update this application on average of once every other day. The developers should seriously consider only rolling out updates once every other week or so. Thank you. ORIGINAL REVIEW: After using Forecast Bar for a few weeks, I can say that I’ve definitely found my favorite weather application available for Mac OS X. Forecast Bar operates as a minimalist Menu Bar item that displays current weather conditions and a drop down menu of a 5-day forecast with detailed information available (including hour-by-hour precipitation probability and temperature predictions). The developers have just recently updated Forecast Bar, and the new update provides the app with almost everything it was missing. They’ve added multiple location support, turning off the weather background image for a smoother display, new non-animated icons, location-sensitive units (great for travel), and more frequent weather updates availability. Unfortunately, the developer charges an additonal amount to receive more frequent weather updates. $15 allows for updates every 30 minutes, whereas $20 allows for updates every 15 minutes (and $35 allows for updates every 10 minutes.) This is a fairly high additional amount to pay for a simple weather application, however, you may find the purchase worthwhile if you live in an area with highly variable weather conditions. So far, I’ve found weather predicitons to be highly accurate, as the app is powered by Forecast.io. The app in clean, straight-forward to use, and provides convenient notifications for precipitation and severe weather alerts. In summary, my experience with Forecast Bar has been excellent so far, and I look forward to any further developments to this already stellar app. —Update— The developers have continued to update and support this phenomenal app. I could not recommend this application more highly.

With all the variations of weather apps out there, this one has it all. Beautiful design and consistent operation. My only wish is that someday the 30 minute updating will be free. Just a little more warning of severe weather would be nice. Good job everyone.

I’m away a lot of people rave about this app, hence I purchased as well. I had high hopes based on the reviews. It works, interface and features don’t meet expecations for a paid app. I inquired about a 10 day and 15 day forecast option. Customer service provided a condensing response and said it wouldn’t offer this to paying customers. I inquired about the rain notification feature. Similar to AccuWeather with provides much better features and provides a 20 day forecast. What I don’t like about AccuWeather is the “trending now” and where it’s located. If I could move the “trending now” feature to the very last thing I would see, it would beat forecast hands down and it’s free. I use forecast because I don’t like the “trending now” in AccuWeather.”

Works great, simple and clean. Very accurate. Great looking too! I wish the graph would scroll to the right to provide a 24 hour visual forecast.
