Forecast Bar - Weather + Radar App Reviews

This is the best weather app there is.

Sooo I’m a bit paranoid about getting stuck out in bad weather, and as a result I’ve tried pretty much every weather app there is for my Mac, iPad and iPhone, and now even the Apple TV. This is by far the best one I’ve ever come across. I was looking for something that was consistent across my multiple platforms, delivered an accurate and reliable forecast, had notifications for severe weather, and included radar, and this checks off everything on my list. This app is available for all of the Apple devices I use, which is fantastic, and it uses the same nice and easy to read UI consistently on everything. It’s very simple and to the point while including pretty much every bit of weather information I could need - even things like sunrise and sunset times, UV index, and severe weather warnings. It also syncs things like favorited locations across devices which is a nice touch. The forecast is always correct where I live and I especially love the fact that it tells you exactly when to expect rain or storms, and when those weather events are predicted to end. Also, the developers are incredibly nice and very open to user suggestions - I’ve honestly never come across app developers as responsive as these guys. In a nutshell, this has become one of my most-used apps and I like it a lot.

Review and request

Just got this App seems promising i hope i dont get charged for weather updates by default!!! i believe the weather updates are free for one year then you get charged based on updates etc…! The option of getting charged for updates will turn people away especially when the applied charges are rather ridiculously high! Having a live image would be nice. keep up the good job.

Wants to be updated; current version has time bomb

I get a dialog to update this thing and iTunes already says “Open” so I can’t update it. Then it threatens to stop working!

A great mix of style and functionality

Most weather apps are nothing more than screensavers with weather information! Forecast Bar is the exception. Except for the reliance on Apple Maps which on my system sometitmes is unable to determine My Location. I blame Apple Maps.

Great App!

Great app…you get what you pay for.

Accurate

This is one of the most accurate weather apps I’ve seen.

Social Media Account for Support?

Why is a social media account required to contact support and ask a question. Paying for an app should be enough to get help. At least start with a faqs page to assist new customers. Rating would be higher without having to jump through hoops to get support.

It’s a fine app but its forecasts sometimes miss the mark

Very nice application. It provides a lot of useful information while it sits quietly in the Menu Bar. However, its forecasts are sometimes wrong—way wrong. For example, as I am writing this, the forecast reports drizzle ending soon while I am looking out the window at a sunny blue sky with a smattering of clouds. No drizzle ever occurred, no rain, no hint of precipitation. Nothing on the radar. I have reported this problem to the developer several times but each response is the same: he is not the source of the data and thus not responsible. While this may seem to be a valid point, my take is simply that any program that reports wrong results is a program that needs to be fixed. At the least, the developer should contact the meteorological data provider to resolve the issue. Or consider finding a new data provider.

Nice job!

Clear, easy to read and understand interface. Good graphs and graphics.

Great App

Nice application that is available on all Apple devices. I find the immediate forcasts quite accurate. This is very useful since I live in an area where the weather can change quite rapidly, especially in the summer.

Useful and well put together-continues to be the best I’ve used.

I used to use WeatherBug, but they got wonky with the Mac, so I eventually migrated to FB. I have to be persuaded to spend for an app-this is one I am glad I purchased. It’s reliable, a clean interface with the useful information easily read, and tells me what I need to know-what more do I need in a weather app? Glad to recommend. I’ll echo other positive reviewers-it’s good.

Great Weather APP

Keep this short and simple, this is the best weather APP and it is not even close. The way it sets n the background and quick to bring up is great. It gives you the facts and what to expect for the day plus the week. Radar is quick to come up and use. I have tried at least 10 other weather Apps and this is the best.

One of the best

This app is one of the best. Good info and easy to read.

Great!

I like that I can easily see the temperature in the menu bar, and if I want to know more, there’s a ton of information in just one click.

Best Mac weather app

This works exactly as you want it to work. It is unintrusive and I use it constantly. It is one of first things that I install when I set up a new Mac.

Accurate weather real easy

The program is simple to use and easy to access when you want to know what to expect now and in the future with the weather. I found it to be the most accurate overall for my location in Northern Nevada. My "go to” source for the weather thats better than the local news. Simple, fast, and most accurate you got to love it. Weather

I find the forecasts are accurate and timely. All the forcasts are up easy to understand and follow. Great weather site for your computer. Chemtec

I like it.

Yes this app is expensive. The developers kids like to eat Kobe™ beef. I don’t mind supporting developers for good software. I enjoy using this app in the morning. I use to use Orbis but FB is just so much better.

Pleasant experience

Clean app UI, you can even set a key combo to have the app open (I chose command-shift-W) in the menu bar. It provides the weather in a very nice, easy to read way. There is a widget for the notification menu, which works without a hitch. The radar map is very useful as well.

So far, so good

Simple. It’s really clean. I like it. It does show up as an “app using significant energy”. Not a huge deal but is odd considering it’s currently set to update every hour. Why the power usage when not refreshing?
